WOO HOO!!!!!!! YEEHAW.......... one of the newer ones too...

I've got one too. Those things sound killer for rock guitar sounds.

tubedude, now how come YOU didn't buy two for that price
each and sell one to your good buddy?....ME!

Congratulations, that's supposed to be a wonderful microphone.
Let us know how you enjoy it!

Chris

when you say cheap, please dont get us excited if you only got 10 bucks off retail. Ive seen the same model go for under $100.

Good mic though, but at that price Ive aquired a half stack, a pair of ns10s , Phase Linear Reference amp, and a set of roland spd20. drums for arrounf 250 total for all of them.

After you mike up your cab with the 441, you'll probably never use the '57 again.

Congrats! That is probably the finest dynamic mic ever made.

Nice to know I'm not alone anymore.:D

Tubedude,

Congrats on the mic and now I know your e-bay username....you have this "dude" theme going on...I think I see a pattern here.:D

I have got a question on how you post a link - like to the e-bay item. Is there an easier way than writing down the entire link a retyping it?

Forgive my computer ignorance but I can't type worth a darn so for me this method is like a five minute process...I know there has to be an easier way for the computer savvy.

Whatever link you want to post, use the copy and paste function in the address window from the e-bay page.

Hey Senn,
From that picture, it doesnt look like it is the one that uses the weird connector, does it? That may be a problem if it is. I cant tell by looking at it compared to the Sennheiser site picture since those dumbasses had to attach a cable to it totake the damn picture. I emailed to ask the seller but havent heard back yet. The picture at the SEnn site does seem different at the connection point though. Has me worried all over again.

Hmmm, imagine that... he emailed back and said it does not have the roll-off switch, but it does use a regular cable. This bothers me now... I wonder if the sound is the same and if it has the treble enhance on it. This bugs me.
Should I take the mic or back out? I dont want an inferior sounding 441. On the other hand, I hear the rolloff effects the sound badly anyway. I just want it to sound like a 441. As long as it does, I'll be happy. If not, I guess I could just toss it back on ebay.

I think I'd go ahead and take and try it out. It's still a good price, but it's funny that he didn't mention it in the ad.

I think without the switch it would have the same sound as if the switch were set in the center position which is where mine are usually set. Not always though.

It is still going to be a kich-ass dynamic mic, it just won't be as flexible as the "U" model. It still should have the HF boost on the bottom. They all have that.

I would seriously hope that it was set more towards the wide open position. Guess I'll chuck an email off to senneheiser service to find that one out, also. If its not wide open, I guess I'll have them set it up that way. If they cant, then I dunno.
Do you know thier US service address?
Thanks...

I was just surfing e-bay and there is a listing for a black 421 for $187 at the moment.

I came back here to check the model numbers to see wich one you got - the 441...

but the picture looks exactly the same black with the cable attatched and mounted to the V shaped floor stand as the one you posted in the link.

I would make sure your seller got his model number right before you send him any money especially since there seem to be some missing switches invlolved.

Ohhh, boogety, boogety, boogety..... Good Advise!!!

OK, I've gone from being a happy camper to a nervous wreck.
I'm pretty sure its a 441, not a 421. All of the 421 have the switchs, I think. The 441 seems to have been made on a very short run without the switches.
I'll let everyone know what happens. I have an email in to sennheiser service about it, too.

I dont see the 421 lsited at 189 or whatever... show me where the pictures are the same please.

Tubedude,

I will try this cut and paste thing but if it does not work (I don't get along with computers well) it is in the mic section narrowed to going, going, .....

and listed as a Senhiser MD 421.

Well it's not working....I highlight the address and right click to copy then I open this window and nothing happens...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=907095974

whoops there it is it did work! Ya have to right click again when you get here...duh!

Actually the "stand" is different I think.

I am not all that familiar with mic's but I am learning what I can!

At least I know how to post links now!

Its up to $200 now.
