You get a telegram from the Queen when you reach 100. Although I'm told that because people "live so much longer now", there are so many 'tonners' that you have to pay £24 admin costs now ! Apparently there were only about 58 people that used to make it when she first started sending them out.
Personally I'm opposed to royalty in principle although the Queen's a good old stick and they cost each subject {we're not even citizens !} the equivalent of 2 packets of M&Ms a year........
