Hello everybody. Im new to home recording and have a question.

I received my profire 2626 off ebay from a guy. He mentioned the unit has heavy road wear and that theres one screw missing. This didn't bother me since the guy has a good sales record and he told me that he tested the unit and that its working.

When i recieved the unit today i noticed some issues. First is minor, but the unit is missing two more screws then described. My biggest concern is a noise coming from inside the unit. If i tilt it it would sound like a screw is moving around in there or some other part. The sounds are random going from very little to a concerning noise.

What do you guys think this sound is? Can a screw fall into this unit some how? If it did, would it be a concern?

Thanks!

oh, i should say i havent tested the inputs yet. Waiting to get mic and cords still. The unit did power up.

I also contacted the seller asking his thoughts on this and his response was, "the unit is working, right?". I thought that to be rude to ignore my concern. So i asked if he knew about this noise before he shipped, but still waiting on a response.

I don't know about the noise thing, but I'm pretty sure you got ripped off.

What do you mean by this? That the unit doesn't properly work? Like I said I've yet to test it out.

If anything i can file a complaint with ebay to get my money back.

I should add that the guy has 100% feedback from 106 sales. I'm pretty sure he didn't sell me a broken unit, but was deceptive in the description.

Get your screwdriver onto it, open it up, retrieve whatever it is and reattach it...

Would opening the unit void any chance to return it if something is wrong with it? I'm not sure how'd the buyer would know, tho...

Sounds like you answered your own question. ;)

Unplug it, be careful, and don't touch anything you don't have to!
