Hey all. I'm relatively new here, been reading through to pick up tips, etc. I'm a digital refugee going analog, and I'm single so my whole place is my studio if I like. I picked up a TASCAM 388 a couple weeks ago and ProTech in Silver Spring MD just replaced the broken belt.
I'll post up tracks as I complete them.
• TASCAM 388
• Audio Technica RMX-64
I was planning on using this for 2-track stereo mix-down, but the transport is kaput… parts seem to be eluding me. Still works as a 6-channel mixer. Looking at TASCAM 2-track reel-to-reel studios for mixing down…something that takes the same reels as the 388.
• Tandberg TCD 310 2-Track Cassette Recording Deck. This sounds absolutely amazing, but it’s a little out of whack…currently eating tape. Needs a good tune-up.
• Cubase… I’ve got this w/ the Lexicon Alpha interface, mostly for getting analog onto my computer for mp3s, etc. But I’ve been recording jams and sketching out songs with this since the Tandberg started going haywire.
• Sterling Audio ST-33 (x2) – Drum overheads
• Shure Beta 52 – Kick
• Sterling Audio ST-51 – Vocals, w/ pop filter
• Audix i-5 – Guitar amp
Cheers!
