i can't wait, I've been talking to some local musicians about recording some of their gigs so i wanted to get something portable w enough channels to record everything going into the board and still be able to have a couple room mics.
i was going to post earlier and see if anybody had any feedback on the driver quality in XP but I'm impulsive.
the only recording software I've ever used is audacity, kristal and a friend's old sonar crack (super buggy). the 1641 comes w a legit copy of cubase LE4. I'm guessing that would be better (more features, nicer interface, more stable) than the other stuff I've used right?
i basically just want to record a bunch of live tracks, mix them together, do simple adjustments like EQ, compression, etc. and export audio to wav and possibly import into video tracks. (I've got a couple minidv camcorders, i want to try some multicam video stuff too)
