Good timing for releasing this mic because I was is need for a good vocal mic. This mic sounds very nice on my voice. I compared it to my AKG C414 XLS (which I love for instrument recordings) and the TLM 49 sounds so much more warmer in the mid/higher frequncies. The XLS has more of a flatter frequency response which is what makes it good for recording instruments. I haven't tried the TLM 49 on any instruments yet because I just got it today and I gotta leave my house soon to go watch UFC.

what does a TLM49 look like????

I have a TLM103

Just curious as to why you chose a transformerless version of this mic, when the tube version of the M149 is available. The TLM49 looks almost exactly like it.

Well, the Neumann M 149 Tube is more than double the price so that makes a huge difference. Also I just need a cardioid mic and the M 149 is a multi-directional mic. Don't get me wrong, I would still love to get the M 149 but I am happy with my purchase.

Well, it's been about a week now.. You ready to sell that stinker yet? You've probably got buyer's remorse.

Hey have you heard the TLM103?? I'm curious what the difference in character is between these two...
