Just got an Echo Mia and an Audiobuddy preamp. Set it all up and unstalled the drivers and everything.

here's my dilemma.

I am under the impression that I can continue to use my current soundcard (M-Audio Revolution) as well as the Mia.

I want to continue to use the Revo to output audio to the PC speakers but I want to use the Mia for recording.

The problem is that although I see the meters move and can record sound, I cannot hear it WHILE its recording through the PC speakers.

Is it possible to be inputing to the Mia and hear it through the Revo? It plays back through the Revo but I need to hear it WHILE i'm recording.

suggestions?

You would have to take the outputs of the Mia and connect them with cables to the inputs of the Revolution. (Remember that each 1/4" output plug of the Mia is a left or right side, they are single channels of a stereo pair.)

Or if you have a mixer hooked up to the Revolution, you would have to take the outputs of the Mia and connect them to two mono channels or one stereo channel of the mixer.

Good luck.

Why do you want to use the Revo for playback? I'm not familiar w/ either card (I have a Delta 44), but you would probably get better playback with the Mia. This comes into play when you are mixing. The more accurate sound you hear will allow you to make better mixing decisions.

You can probably patch the Mia into the Revolution card, but I honostly wouldn't advise it. You're better off getting a set of monitors to plug into your Mia card since your PC speakers aren't really made to be used for recording purposes. You can do so, but you most likely get terrible results.

thats the thing. I don't have monitors...yet. I guess I'll look into that. If I get powered monitors I won't need an amp for em, correct?
