Always dug this song so thought I would try a quick and dirty cover...my version is slower, and my vocals are pretty shitty, but it is a blast to play this...wanna play it live with my band

Yeah it's got a live groove to it. I never heard the original, rockin track. It's well recorded with good energy. Nice job strat, it's a lot of fun doing covers occasionally
 
I never heard the original. It has a very Ramone'sy sound. Guitars especially.

The drums get a little buried - mostly the snare and kick.

Vocals are a little buried too. Just a bit.

Great energy to the song.

Yeah for sure....came across one you sang on of mine a long long time ago...Zeppelins Good Times Bad Times...still sounds awesome! :>)

Thanks TripleM, I did do a remix to address those issues, I think the vocals are in a better space now, not sure on the drums , but they seem a little better...snare anyways, still not happy with kick. The original link plays new mix ;>)

Heh that's funny. I heard it a couple of weeks ago on a road trip, first time in years. I was admiring the snare sound, you did a real good job the drums and guitars, and the mix has a nice clarity to it

If, instead of putting a pause between the first and second line of the refrain (I ain't no goddamn sonuvabitch - you better think about it baby), you just joined them up without a pause between, you'd get the second part to scan better and drive the rhythm better. The rest of it is respectable thrash. ?
 
I can hear the vocals better now.

A couple of new things pop out to me.

The reverb on the vocals is really heavy and doesn't match the other tracks. To me, I'd dry it up quite a bit. I'd probably go with a different reverb sound too.

And the real-low-low end of the bass is fairly rumbly. I might roll that off somewhat.
