let me know what you guys think...i recorded it (played all the instruments too), and also mixed it.

i even mastered it ( i know, a big NO NO...but i wanted to try......)

let me know what you guys think! maybe even give me come constructive critisism..........

Sounds excellent. What gear do you use as far as recording gear?

for mics, just mostly Sm57's........i run em through an old Soundtracs Topaz mixing console, and run that right into my M-audio Delta 66 sound card, into my PC. I use Sonar 6 (PE) for DAW (recording/mixing), and dump the mixed songs into Wavelabs to do the final mastering/polishing.

My favorite 'go to' plugins are the Waves SSL4000 plugs......i love them!

But the drums you hear are not real, its Toontracks EzDrummer software......which is another reason why i use Sonar as a DAW.......that program is the Best for Midi, and is real good over all for audio and midi applications.......

any thing else? .....is it "ok"........does it need some work or improvments?

I think it's great. Very professional sounding, and the playing is good, but that lends to the professionalism. It sounds like video game music.

I have to ask, have you had any problem sending tracks out to separate tracks from EZdrummer? I cannot get it to work for the life of me. I'm using Sonar 6. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to do but I can't process the drums enough so I haven't.

in sonar, when opening the ezdrummer, click on the "mixer" window in ezdrummer.............once thats open, where its shows all the individual faders.......look below at where it says "output" in orange numbers.......(trk1, trk2, trk3, etc etc)....and right click on trk1 .....and scroll down to "mutichannel" and select that.........

and it may help to click on your MIDI SYNTH RACK, and click on "insert soft synth options" and select the box that says "all synth outputs:stereo"

Top job!
My only comment would be that there's not much in the way of dynamic range as everything seems as loud as you can get it - that's the mastering thing though isn't it?

i hear ya.......i pushed these up pretty good.....alot of the songs dont offer a huge dynamic range,

But there are a few that do.......i think "saying goodnight" has a decent amount of dynamic range, while still having the volume as the rest..........but most of them are a bit heavy pn the "limiting/compression" in the mastering stage that robbed them all of thier dynamics......

Real drums would make this all perfect but you did a good job mixing in the ezdrums.

Good job. Congrats on finishing a full album yourself thats an accomplishment alone.

yeah, the ezdrummer software has a way of sending each individual drum to a separate track, so mixing it was a bit easier than trying to mix a drum loop.

im glad you all like it, it was my first attempt to mixing a whole CD, and doing some sort of "mastering" on the whole CD as well.........

cheers!

is it worthy of being sold (CD on iTunes, or distribution)????

or shall i work on it some more, fix it up some? Im just worried cause this is my first real attempt to make a decent CD to where i can upload it and sell it, and have it be worth of selling........being as how i tried to do it all myself.....
