sorry im a total pain in the ass here but im not really sure what those hotfixes are or where to find them.. microsoft?

yeah a brief explanation would have been nice, those hotfixes sound confusing.

waitaminute, what's this alla bout, what are "microsoft foundation classes"...where can I take these classes? are they offered at local community colleges?

also, WHY would you create then destroy a child??? I guess people are going too far and taking to heart the old cliche "i brought you into this world and I can take you out.."..very sad

"SYMPTOMS

When you run a Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) application on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed, you may see memory leaks for Graphics Device Interface (GDI) objects when you create and destroy child windows. To see the memory leaks, view the GDI objects of the process in Task Manager.

This problem also occurs on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 when the Themes service is started. By default, the Themes service is disabled on Windows Server 2003.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of a bug in the implementation of the new theming interface."

i installed the second one, thanks for the links..

i wonder whats wrong with the way my computer plays videos. I guess the only conclusion is that my video card is bad or something? cause it does it in all those media player programs.

Also when i play videos i always get the "Splendid Video Enhancment" by ASUS splash screen, kinda annoying, possibly part of the problem? who knows.

You have a GeForce6200 right? remove your video drivers and software and install the latest video drivers from nVidias website. Graphics Drivers- GeForce Series/TNT -WinXP.

If you are doing serious audio on your computer, and the ASIO drivers are not working for you, then either you are doing something else wrong OR you are not doing serious audio on your computer. ASIO should be THE ticket to multi track audio instead of Windows DX drivers any day.....why would you want Windows to touch your audio, when ASIO will do it all directly in the hardware without Windows knowing anything about it??

i wish that was the case .. but maybe i am doing something wrong. But when i set the latency on my interface to 32 instead of 256 and set it to the AISO drivers.. the audio wouldnt even play. the windows did. At latency at 256 the aiso drivers work.. but slowly ( i dont know if its a latency problem or just processor speed) but i have a pretty good processor

dammit the drivers didnt work.. i mean they installed and everything but they didnt correct the problem.. such a pesky problem! :( thanks for your help and sticking with myannoying ass

Did you install the Asus updater and then get the latest bios for your motherboard? Thats the beginning, start there. Then disable everything youre not using in the bios under perephirials (serial ports, parallel ports, onboard audio, etc). Also, check your Directx version, maybe that needs a reinstall, too.

The old Pentium4 is not very fast, but even my P4ht 3.0G laptop can stream video just fine. Youre not really going to get low latency recording with that chip and that Tascam, its just a bad combination. Thats the last chipset and the last FW device Id recommend, to be honest. And these kinds of problems are why I recommend what I do.

oooo it stings.. i guess i madesome bad choices .. i like the tascam but im having doubts of the chip...

anyways .... will ASUS's website provide this "updater" and newest bios?

Directx is a microsoft thing right? what does it even do? i think i have the recent version but ill check

maybe im mentally retarded but im not finding an updater or bios thing anywhere on their site. kinda shitty when i click on downloads "this page cannot be displayed"

i found my board on there but there wasnt any linkable downloads so i tried the download tab and got the same results.... i suck

SHIT you did it man ... finally. when i disabled those other onboard unnessicary things the videos work. i think it was from the onboard audio but i disabled the serial port and parrallell port too and the game port. thanks for stickin with me man puttin up with my shit. maybe next time ill check it over with you what kinda chip i buy

Vegas has plugin delay comp, and has since it started, and long before it ever became a buzzword. However many of the core vegas users left last year for REAPER, where we kept our favorite vegas features (s for split, autoxfades, drag and drop file support, insanely fast editing, etc...) and added the missing bits

glad to hear it worked out, musicians really shouldn't have to deal with this crap, some soundcard company should right a whole new operating system just for making music, I have always despised the coward that is bill gates, microsoft and the windows o.s....also I'm very glad firefox came out because I used to like netscape much better then IE but microsoft did some underhanded sh1t that killed off netscape but IE continued to suck ass and still does, how fuked is that, you kill off your competitor so you can push a seriously inferior product down peoples throat and they have no other options???

fuk dat, kill bill gates.

and someone write a goddamn o.s. for making music on pc's!!!! so there is not driver confusion, everything is optimized for music making....no need for internet software, virus crap, or all that other useless sh!t!
