I've checked out these boards a few times, and finally decided to sign up for an aco**** due to all the great constructive feedback people seem to be giving here.
I'm a singer/songwriter from michigan. My biggest influences are probably late 90's pop/rock (gin blossoms, better than ezra) and more modern acoustic artists (Howie Day, Matt Nathanson, Gavin Degraw). I've been playing for 8 years, playing out for about 3 years, but have only been writing my own material for about a year and a half.
if you have some time and would like to check out some of my stuff, I have 12 songs up at http://www.soundclick.com/sethallen
a few of the songs admittedly suck... but I feel pretty good about most of them. Some of my personal faveorites are "Gone", "Names and Faces", and "Simple".
I think I used a slightly different recording technique on every track... I'm still trying to get things set up to where it will sound as good as possible. So there are a few minor mistakes in some songs that I haven't bothered to tighten up yet.
sorry about the rambling introduction.
I'd love to hear some feedback, and I'm looking forward to listening to more of everyone elses music.
