just a little tune

Hey Frenchc,

Wouldn't mind a bit more dry/direct snare on this one - it's a bit "far away" to me. Also the constant crashing on the cymbals might be tamed down a touch on the overheads. Kick sounds good.

The vocals are very strong and powerful sounding - kind of a British/Irish/Scottish ? flavor to it. I like them a lot and I would bring them up a touch so we can get a bit more clarity on the lyrics....

I think I hear either an organ or accordion on the right and the guitar on the left (I'm listening on headphones). Both sound good but need more vocals as said...

Some bass guitar or acoustic bass would round this out a bit but not mandatory....

The two part vocal harmony emphasizes the high vocal range of the lead singer - great stuff......

Good tune...... :D :D :D :D

thanks for the input I appreciate it immensley, I thought the vocals might be a touch low so I'll be sure to raise them a bit.

I'd love to hear what anyone else has to say also

this is my last plea then I'll stop bothering everyone........for a while atleast

thanks

Chris

Chris,

Interesting tune. The title immediately caught me...

I agree with the ealier comments about the cymbals being a bit overpowering at times, maybe turn those down a little. I also think the vocals can be turned up a bit. In general it has a very different sound to it, I'm having a hard time putting in in a specific genre, which is cool imo. What is that instrument that sounds like a accordion/bagpipe/whatever... am I right in guessing it's a synth? It's cool, but it does get a little annoying at times, maybe try using it more as a pad, and only play melodic lines on the parts of the song that you want to emphasize. Oh and I love the quiet bridge near the end where the drums come back in. Nice touch.

Good luck.

its actually an air organ, defenitly sounds like a synth like you said though. I'll try just sticking it in on maybe jsut the chorusy parts or something like that, thanks for the input, greatly appreciated

Chris

Nice tune. I'd also back off on the crashing cymbals and the reverb and give the vocals more presence and volume. A bottom end would be nice too.

will do, defenitly lacking in the bottom end, thats just my bad mixing skills, but I'll fix it

Thanks again

Chris

the vox reminds me of dashboard, take that comment how you will(im not really a dashboard fan but its not meant to be a insult) pull the cymbals down, then maybe get the guitar a little mores high end to get that sparkle to come through (thats just my opinion though ) the snare and kick need to cut a little more too

awesome thanks a ton for the advice. Interesting comment about dashboard, didn't see that one coming, but thats cool

I will be making the adjustments soon then see how it goes

thanks,

Chris

the vocals need more body to them...
i like the sound a lot tho.

great voice whoever the singer is

Hey man, good tune. :)

So raise the vox a lot. By 5 - 7db. Raise the kick, and the snare. Leave the hats/cymbals at this level.

Raise the bass. The guitars just a little. The doubles vox sound cool. The claps sound folksy. Cool. The harmonica/harmonium or whatever sounds cool.

That's some screamin'. :)

Don't worry about bothering people. Just keep posting stuff sooner or later people will start commenting.

cool thanks a lot, we are probably going to re-record the air organ part and replace it with a real organ because it defentily sounds a little chessy

thanks,

Chris

the air organ isnt really all that bad IMO panning why it could use being spread alot wider and maybe some reverb. its kinda different which isnt always a bad thing

i was just thyinkin a real organ might sound a little less cheesy, I'll probably just try it out for the heck of it

thanks

Chris

Cool song, good vox. Vox needs to be louder, NEEDS a low end, its very trebly. A bass would do wonders to balance this out. Good tune.

thank you, the monitors I mxed these on are at my school and since everyone and their mother is allowed to mix on them the low end is completely blown and sounds bad, thats my excuse for no bottom end, but more than likely its because I'm somewhat of a newbee

Thanks a ton DavidK
