Hi all,

New to the site 2nd day. I have a p4 1.3 ghz with 256 RDRam. The sound card is an audiophile 24/96. I am using nuendo and only need ins for vocals and later some guitar work but never more then 2 ins at a time. I use a usb 49 keystation so every softsynth vsti and softdrums are what I prefer plus sampletank and several other sample softwares. (still need to pick my favorites help there would be great too:)

I need some advice about a few things. I am very happy with my card so I don't need to upgrade that. I am purchasing an ok mic probably a c-1, B-1, or3. I need phantom power to run the mic but I do not want to add any major color with a preamp. Do I need more then a dirct box with phantom power? Do the audio buddy or DSP3 better even for computer recording?

In your opinions should I add some RAM right now? Systems seems to be ok but I only go about 10 tracks for a song. Should I get separate software EQ or do I need a unit outside for that as well.

Just starting have some limited knowledge any help would be great on what you guys have? Maybe a mixer is better the a pream. And yes 200 is about all I have for a preamp. If there is a cheap stop gap till I can save money that would great as well.

Is there an adapter the will allow the computer to run the phantom power and a good equalizer program? Thanks in advance:)

Well...I'm new at this myself, but I was told something like an Audio Buddy is more like what you'd need if you just need multiple mics, not a mixer...
As far as the RAM, are you running Win98 or XP? If XP, then yeah, 512MB will really help your performance. If 98, it'll help, but probably less so.
