Hi all,

I am new to recording (audio and video) and new to podcasting.

I am looking at getting a audio technica ATR 2500 condenser mic. I'm in mlebourne it's 149 in store.

However I do not know and I would like to know

(1) what software the pros use for screenrecording. Tutorials. I am on windows, but would love some recommendations for mac and linux too (which I also use).

(2) what software do you use for audio mixing, (i.e. I think recoding some audio, and snipping bits out and adding bits in)

(3) what software to record intro and outro video and or animations and AUDIO and then how do you lace that in front of and at the end of the screen recorded tutorial video?

(4) i'm also looking at improving public speaking - the reason behind the microphone, well and to teach people stuff I know... Anyone know any good public speaking courses?

Thanks for the introduction and the help.

Hi and welcome to the site.

We're more about recording music at home rather than podcasting. Do you want to make music?

It's not designed for public speaking, but you would be immensely better/ more comfortable speaking in front of groups of people if you took the Landmark Forum. It's a 3 day seminar thing and it would change the whole situation for you. I remember this guy (20 y.o. maybe) wanted to be a C.E.O. when he 'grew up', only problem he got really nervous in front of people. When he first spoke at the seminar he looked so nervous and timid, but the end of the weekend, he looked like a stand up comic holding the mic all comfortable and just being graceful in front of about 300 folks. Might want to check it out.
