I'm working on a...well, I guess a parody album, for lack of a better term. The following song is losely written around some lyrics that a friend wrote, and I then took it and ran with it. Most of the things that make no sense at all are my friends, and left for stupidity sake (ie "the distances were vast and far, our stone tablets were sure not to break" - I have no idea what that means).

Anyway, I kinda would like to replace the two lines that infer a transvestite situation with something else (last line of V1, and V5) but humor/cheesiness is the first and foremost factor. Any other ideas, I'll take too.

It's an intentionally cliche, corny love song, in an 80's rock ballad style. OK here ya go:

"Distances" uh...copyright, I guess, Andy Henriksen, 2004 (Like anyone would try to steal this)

(verse 1)
I was a young 22
you were a mature 24
I was just a small town boy
I think maybe you were too
(v2)
You filled up my senses
like the wind beneath my wings
we were islands in the stream
we had a groovy kinda love kinda thing

(chorus)
The distances were vast and far
our stone tablets were sure not to break
she was an angel, now she's my dove
the tears I cried could fill a lake

(v3)
when two worlds collide
even stone tablets can crack
we were as different, baby
as the monitor and merrimac
(v4)
Now I'm left with only your picture
stained with tears and few other things
like the locket of hair I took from you
and your wallet, your watch, and your rings
(v5)
Your lips were like really big cherries
your hair like golden spaghett'
Your neck was so long and so slender
but the adams apple I'd like to forget

(chorus)
The distances were vast and far
our stone tablets were sure not to break
she was an angel, now she's my dove
A little love is all I wanted to make

(bridge)
If you'd like me to die for you
I guess that would be alright
If you'd like me ot lie for you
Don't worry - I do it all the time

(chorus)
The distances were vast and far
our stone tablets were sure not to break
she was an angel, now she's my dove
Love, like a bunt cake, takes time to bake.
