Anyone else use these? I can't get the software to work with my SBlive, it keeps saying it can't find the J station...I know my MIDI cord/port is working, cause it works with my keyboard...Any ideas?

A couple suggestions

Is the switch on the rear of the J-station set to MIDI? (position is closest to the MIDI port). Make sure that the MIDI out of the J-station is connected to the MIDI in on the computer and vice-versa (handshaking). Make sure the cable is fine, and not too long (under 50'). I have the same setup and no problem. I midi in through the game port.

Ok, well, i'm really stupid about this midi stuff, so...yeah :) I have the J Station set to midi, and my cable is only like 5' long...I'm just plugging the cord from the J station In to the midi thingy on my SBLive...There's only 1 on there, is that the in maybe and there's something else I should be plugging in? I tried running from the J station Out to the same plugin and it didn't work either...I don't need to go from the J station to the computer at all right now, just from the computer to the J station for downloading presets and stuff...Thanks for the replies.

If you don't have MIDI communication in both directions to the J-Station, how can the software app detect that the J-Station is there? I think your problem is that you have to have it communicating in both directions.

What he said. Got to have both directions. country and western.

Why, it should magically detect it of course :) Now I just need to figure out where to get another midi cable in this shithole town...Thanks for the help, hope this works.
