How and what mic(s) is he using on his acoustic guitar(I believe it's a Martin)? The sound is so stunningly brilliant and crystal clear.

I believe Rick Rubin is the producer/engineer. I wonder if you did a search you'd track down the details. All the stuff he did with Rubin sounds great.

I have tried searching places like google a little bit and have come up empty. You could send an email to American Recordings and ask them to post some info on their website because their are a lot of people whol would like to know how things were done.

I stole one idea... Saw it on the back of the current CD. Hanging carpeting around the recording area. I'm using mover's blankets wired to a "cage" of PVC pipe. Works like a charm.

Mover's (or concrete) blankets always worked for me also.

I love the Rubin/Cash recordings. He also produced Petty's 'Full Moon Fever' and it has a great sound to it. Last time I looked I wasn't able to find any technical info on Rubin's work.
