But I'm curious as to what these are exactly. Are these VST amp simulations or what is their application?

Just read the descriptions dude. It literally tells you what each one is.
Top one is a VST limiter, Gain reduction is a compressor... They're all VSTs programmed by Sturgis.

My mistake, the first two are VSTs, the V30 one is impulse responses, the last three are presets for an Axe-FX or PodFarm

Sorry I could've been a bit more clear about my question, I guess I'm more so curious as to what an 'impulse response' is. I'm looking for a good VST amp simulator and I liked what his sounded like, but I'm just uncertain as to what an 'impulse response's' application is.

You need something like THIS to play an impulse response. I think REAPER's REAVERB is the same thing, if you happen to have REAPER.

But anyway, you load the impulse response into one of these things and it's triggered by your guitar track, or whatever you're using it on.
