I was wondering if any TwinQ users out there could share some of the comp settings you use for Bass, Vocals. I've been playing around with the comp and can't seem to get a decent sound. I don't want anything dramatic ... just something to smooth out and I can add more with a plugin later if needed. I have the new TwinQ by the way ... as I have heard the comps are different from the original. Any help would be great!

For vox, I won't compress at more than 3:1 going in, and 2:1 is more likely. I'm just trying to limit vocalist excursions. Threshold (compress) at -4, fast attack, medium release. I don't use the Joemeek for bass, so I can't help you much there. Note that I track pretty dry, and if it's possible, I track vox with no compression whatsoever. Compression is added at mixdown, if needed. All I'm trying to do is prevent clipping. -Richie

Richie ... would you say: attack 5ms / release 0.3 ms?

BTW, your review of the TwinQ last year helped a great deal in me getting this unit. So far, I'm happy but like you said, the front panel could be a little intimidating with all the controls. I think I will play it safe and not track w/ the comp until I am comfortable with it......any chance of a "part 4" review in the near future???? :D

thanks again
