Hi,
I'm going to be recording acoustic guitar with either a Joemeek JM27 or an Oktava mk012 at the 12th fret, and a Studio Projects B1 about 24'' away.
As far as quality inexpensive small condenser mics are concerned, which of the two do you think is the best bet? I haven't read much of anything about the Joemeek line.

thanks for your help

Haven't used the JM27, but from what I hear, it's just another cheap Chinese SDC. I love my MC012.

I have an idea that the JM27 is similar to the MXL603. If so, it might be OK for acoustic depending on the sonic character of the particular guitar.

Ultimately, you should try both mics out as no one can accurately answer your question.

The JM27 is a Marshall MXL603S copycat... so the JM27 should be a brighter sounding mic than the MC-012. Anyway, have fun and I wish you the best. :)

I think you'd be better off placing the B1 two feet away ;)

I know the MC012 is good, so that's what I'd choose. The MXL 603s is also good.
