...but then again, size doesn't matter does it?
I just wanted to post a few pictures of my latest thrift-shop buy... a Hammond model #J-323. I found this at a Salvation Army shop for $75 - I tried it out & found it in perfect working condition. It caught my eye because it had a switch for a Leslie on it - I thought: "Man, wouldn't it be cool if it had a small Leslie rotary unit in it?" I fliped the switch, but didn't get much of a change in the sound, but I figured I'd buy it anyway just 'cause it was cool. I got it home & took the back off of it; low and behold! A Leslie rotary tremelo! I cleaned and oiled the unit and now it works great! I finally have that cool hammond sound that I've always wanted - it isn't like a large Leslie cabinet, but it sounds damn cool... I particularly dig the ramp-up / down effect. Anyway, here are some pics.
