Hey, wondering if Jeff Tweedy uses his ac30 for his acoustic or if that is just for his electric? I would like to know what amp he uses live for acoustic songs in the wilco setlist. Looks like all he has up there is his ac30 and 15 but there could be things I am missing. Muchos Gracias.

His OO21s have a passive Fishman undersaddle pickup and an L.R. Baggs M1 Passive soundhole pickup. They run through a direct box to the PA. The Guild 12-string he is using on this tour has a passive Fishman undersaddle and a Sunrise, again run direct. He is probably using a Pendulum or something as a preamp - I don't know.

interesting, thanks. I didn't think that he would be running the acoustic through the PA directly. Thanks.

Well, there is a direct box of some sort, but direct is by far the best way to amplify an acoustic guitar in a large concert situation with a sound guy and sound system you trust. Most "acoustic" amps are just trying to recreate what a PA does anyway, so why use both?

word up to that! Im lookin for an acoustic amp sometime in the future. Thought he played through the ac30 so I thought I might be checking it out. On both of their dvds, the live versions of I am Trying.. are great. I want to achieve that. i know most of that sound is from the gibson and pickup. Looks like it's back to GC to sit and play some with my acoustic.
