I am about to make a HUGE purchase. I need 6 of these either all of one kind or by mixing and matching. I have a 4 member band and we regularly play clubs of about in the 200 - 400 person size. Our sound guy can normally get by using 6 JBL Eons. 2 Fronts and 4 for stage monitors. He uses Eons for monitors because it is all he has that is loud enough. He has Eon 10" speakers but they are not loud enough.
The problem is that our soundman is getting busy and we are getting more gigs too. So he cannot always just drop his plans and run sound for us. So we were thinking that we could go ahead and buy our own PA.
We are going active because it is easier to setup, and if we have to use an unknown sound guy, there is less of a chance of him blowing our stuff. So finally here is the question.
Fronts = 2 Behringer B300's or 2 JBL Eons
Monitors = 4 B300's or 4 Fender 1270P Monitors
The Eons are good but cost $400 each; I know they sound good and are 250watts. I have never heard the Behringers but they seem to be copies of Mackies active monitors. Also Behringer stuff (other thab boards) seems to be pretty good for live sound and are 300watts. The Behringer speakers weigh in at $350 each.
What I want to get but am worried about is the Fender monitors. They have a 10" speaker and are 100 watts. They only cost $279 each. So that means I can get 4 of them for the price of three Behringer speakers. What I am worried about is that they may not be loud enough. I have heard the Fender passport systems and they can be pretty loud, but I am just not sure about only a 10" speaker at 100 watts.
Can anyone tell me about the Behringer or the Fender??
