A two-way speaker has (typically) one speaker dedicated to the bass end of the frequency spectrum and a second speaker dedicated to the treble end of the freqency spectrum. I have a pair of JBL eon's and they work very well live - I use them with a pair of JBL subs and find that I can whip up quite a nice little racket.
You will need other speakers for monitoring your recording setup - you mentioned in one of your other posts that you have been using your eon as a keyboard amp, and I'm sure it makes a great one of those. They are fine for all live duties, but are not refined enough (for lack of a better term) to be studio monitors.
