I have A pair of JBL control 5's that need new tweeters (I got them like that with some other stuff). I haven't heard much about them on the forum, are they worth restoring?

I liked the Control 5's myself. I haven’t worked with a pair since about 1998, but I remember thinking they were decent nearfields.
I use Yorkville YSM1i's now and I think they are one of the best passives for the money. I prefer the Yorkies even though they cost about half as much as the JBL 5's. The JBL's are still a good product, especially if you already have them.

how much are the tweeters?
that'd be a hard decision if their over $100 or so...
I'd definitely throw something in there to get them going if even nothing but to sell them. Those are some pricey monitors. My ears weren't really in tune to those original C5 tweeters...the metal dome or something, pretty bright, but very detailed. imo.

$34 each, i believe. I'm probably going to do it either way, since i can get more than that for selling them if I dont like em...
