Hey Guys,

This is my cover of Aqua De Beber. Im looking for some critique on the mix; sound levels, eq, panning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to get that perfect jazz sound.

Heres the link http://www.purevolume.com/maxglogau

This is one of my favorite songs. The version I am familiar with is of course the one sung by Astrud Gilberto.

Honestly, this sounds like something you might hear while shopping at Kroger. It's too stiff and sterile for me. The sounds are okay there's just no life to it.

perfect jazz sound... hhhm

TO ME, this is too "pop- i -fied" to be jazzy. The rhythm gtrs are too far foward and pop in and out especially being panned so hard left and right...and the intro lead gtr has more chorus than Pat Metheny and sits in the "back" of the mix and should be more featured.

I think if the rhy gtrs were reduced to ONE gtr, with one lead forward of that, ditch the guerro (sp?) and pan the rhy gtr a little opposite of the bass if you want to be bold and the the ld gtr down the middle.

Same with the pno...it's too far back.

maybe less ride cymbal too.

thanks for the comments.

there is only one guitar panned far right and keyboards panned far left. The lead guitar does have alot of chorus on it. Im going to experiment with the panning and change up the lead a bit.

I liked your Bossa Nova Groove!

You should make it available as a download for a possible collaboration.

Good music!
