Your attendance is MANDATORY! Some information here is also in the Cave threads, but this ain't a Cave thread and all y'all coming anyway! or something. Anyway....
Jamfest6 is going to be August 11 - 13 2006 at casa del fmmahoganyrush (AKA Tom) in Andover Connecticut with major appearances by about a hundred of us days, weeks or perhaps even months ahead of time.
Tasks are: setting up the outdoor kitchen, getting the portapotteys in place, mowing out the camping areas, schmoozing the neighbors within subsonic range, bringing people, finding food, bringing and setting up a live stage and a 16 track recording studio, arranging for a live webcast, engineering and building Plan B Brand tarps, tent and general rain protection schemes, polishing up the Porsche, clearing the bees nest out of the Cessna, obtaining a suitable pedestal for MisterQCue's articulated James Brown action figure, putting another coat of spar varnish on the Executive Pleasure Brand Shower Stall, Picking up a gross of toilet paper Arriving with trash cans in tow complete with protective "positive trashy practices" enforcing dragons, picking up a truckload of commercial / construction trash bags, procuring some Valium for Kathy's folks, procuring a little more for Kathy, arranging for caravans from the midwest, the north, the FAR north (Oh Canada!) the south, the Deep South, the DEEPER South (You listening, Cy? ) and the FAR west (You listening, Riley? C7? drStawl?) the east, the FAR east (Yo, Jgourd! Joro! Treelin... oops). Um, and over the BIG Pond to the European contingent and then over and down under to our Aussie Homereccers/RP'ers. Arranging for the means and mechanisms to join in getting those who can't possibly make it here to end up at Jamfest6 anyway!!! I'm not kidding. And we have to find some more duct tape for Dragonwork's truck. And we have to get VtGreen's drums. Or someone elses' drums. Or a double kit. Triple kit. And those who travel far, travel light! There will be more guitars than you can imagine outside of a well known retail establishment, loads of amps and plenty of stage room to swing a cat. There will be big tents with extra room for folks who show up needing a place to crash. There will be extra toothpaste. And there is the fabled hot tub!
OK, that's a short list. Your turn. Let's get this show on the road. Those who have not been there, it's time for a change of venue - just one weekend that will change your life is all...
