This is a rough mix, something to wet the appitite while waiting for the good stuff to get mixed.

Great mix. jgourd.

My complaint?

The Bass player sux on this one...
Took him awhile to catch all the changes, as it is a song he obviously has never played on.
What is he...Some kind of Idiot? ;)

The vocals are funny!!!!! What kind of effect did you run that through??? ROTFL!!!!

I have a whole new appreciation for "Freebird" now.

Ahh...The daf cheesed a note...I feel better now. :D

That is a GREAT keyboard tone, however...Excellent playing, Daf!

Who is doing the lead?...Is that Cyrokk? Very trippy!!! Me like it.

I remember looking over at Vox on drums, trying to signal to him that after the vocals are done, the song speeds up...Voxy was sooo in his groove that I don't think he had any idea what I was trying to tell him until halfway through it, as you will hear...

"So what?"..."It's a JAMFEST", I say to myself..."Lighten yo'sef up!!!" I remember laughing about it then...

Great drumming, Voxyyy!!!!

Maaan...That was fun..

Keep em' coming, Gourdo!!!

:D

Well, coming from a part of the country where 13 year old kids play this whole song note for note(on every instrument),I must say this is the worst attempt I have ever heard.LMAO!

Hopefully the alcohol was good and you all had a good time eating good food.LMAO!

This was a request.

Hence the old proverb: Careful what you ask for. You might get it.

After 32 years as a musician, I FINALLY had to play Freebird. At Jamfest. While it was being recorded.

All those years of hot Rhodes solos over extended funk jams, did they ever get recorded? Did they ever get broadcast? But one freekin time with (unrehearsed, uncharted) Freebird, now I'm labeled for life.

I'm bringing charts next year, dammit!!!

Or else I'll start drinking earlier...:D

The vocals are soooo bad I just had to run them through:

1) Short Reverb
2) Long Reverb
3) Doubler Chorus
4) 3 voice harmonizer.

That is Beelzabubba on vocal I think.

LMAO!!!

So THIS is freebird! I've seriously never actually sat down and listened to the song, other than when passing through while changing stations..

Hilarious!...

I had NOOOOOOO idea what I was doing, and around the 7-8 minute mark, resorted to double bass kick licks..:D

Wow... the beer made this sound good? That was some damn good brew!! :p LOL!! :D

Actually,it tightened up after about 4 mins :)

Wow, who was on drums, sounds like someone lifted the drum track right off the album.

Get's going pretty good near the end. The opening versus are all over the mpa but are so heartfelt you have to dig it.

Wish I was there for that.

I hope none of the drunks got burned with all the bic lighters !! :D

cool guys....

daf', how`d you get a friggen leslie in the backseat of your car? hehehe

that's classic Doug..

if this wasn't a jamfest recording, I would think everyone involved should be shot.. since this is a jamfest recording, it makes me wish I was there to sit in on the drums.. there were a few key drum parts that you just HAVE to do, or you should not play it..

imhop, the 'live version' of F.B. from 'one for the road' is one of the greatest tunes of all time.. it's the same version on Gold and Platinum..

sorry Vox, I just read the thread!

I guess you did good not knowing the song... you too VI and Daf..

It's not like it was mandatory for you to show up, or anything :D

Sorry man, 'twasn't me. I was watching the show from the far back corner.. The pit was so crowded I couldn't even take a guess as to who played what! ;)

I remember this... sorta...

I came walking out around the corner towards the stage area and thought to myself "Freebird... No... Oh My God"... and then was told it was by request from the net, and immediately made a mad dash for the nearest bottle of whatever I could find:D

Good Stuff guys!

that's what **I** was playin... I think VI was hearing an Am before the D...

I listened to this this morning. I suspect jgordo's gonna be holding out for big bribes to make this go away.

I remember a Journey concert on TV with a bunch of Chicago blues guys - Schon got a half step off on his solo, got all the way through 12 or 24 bars in the wrong key. Absolutely painful.

I know now what he must have felt like, later, watching the concert.:(

Daf (imagining Slack's Freebird request was probably just a joke in the first place...)

I have to take the blame for the vocals.I knew from the moment I started I wasn't going to be able to pull it off,so I kinda went into this mocking, redneck parody.Forgot most of the lyrics.Funny shit.I aint to proud to suck!:D
