This is for Gidge and Lt Boob. :D

I aint no Cajun, but being from southern Louisiana, this song is in my blood. ;)

Jambalaya - On The Bayou
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7560068

I started this a while back just messing around, so I finally got around to finishing it.

I literally just finished mixing, so any comments are welcome and appreciated.

Laissez Le Bon Temp Roulet! :p

Holy shit, what a bomb!
Love your guitar work and sound on this one, Greg, besides the vocals and the harmonies. No need to comment on the drums. Great fuckin' version!

Joey :):):):)

My nitwit ass clicked on the lowfi link and it still sounded great! :D

:o

I don't think it needs any tweaking.

Sounds real good Greg! Nice job on mixing the levels of the aggressive and gentler vocals for consistent level.

Vox overall could come up a touch.

Minor thing... the bass gtr where it stands out at :05 and :37 sounds less rhythmically tight than the rest. I guess the bass player's struggling to keep up with the drummer.:D:p

Okay thanks bud. :)

Lol. Yeah there's lots of things that could be tighter on this one, but I just left it alone. It was just for shits and grins and something to do to take my mind off of other more serious projects. Thanks for checking it out. :)

"Smash guitar, steal a car, and be gay-oh..."

Man, I SO wanted to hate this, but I just can't! Lots 'o fun!

Yeee haw!

What can I say Greg...you've got it worked out...your productions are so good and your work rate is incredible. Recording must come so easy for you. I'm sure though you put your time in learning everything.

Great tune...so good

oops: how rude...sorry!

Lol. Thanks. Why would you want to hate it? :D

Thanks dude. Some things come easy and yeah I've spent a lot of time trying to get better and better. It's fun.

P.S. - My name is Greg, not Glen. :D

Because you are not a cajun. Sorta knee-jerk reaction I sometimes have when I see people "stealing" my heritage- then I remember (at least, some of the time) that imitation really is the most sincere form of flattery...

I smile every time I hear your song.

Are you an actual Cajun? I didn't "steal" anything. I grew up in New Orleans and have family roots all over southern Louisiana - from N.O. to Plaquemine to Baton Rouge to Breaux Bridge. The souls of a billion boiled crawfish and LSU football runs through my veins. :D

Cool rendition, Greg. It sounds like you're having a great party all by yourself. Don't forget to invite yourself to the next one. Wish I lived close enough to come, also. And bring my crawdads to throw on the barbeque. Well, at least I can spell beer.

Wig:)

Lol. Thanks a lot.

By the way, it's "crawFISH", and you boil them, not barbecue. :D

Throw another lobster on the babie!
Down here a shrimp is a prawn, a crawdad is also a yabbie and the crayfish is a lobster too!
Now, don't get me started on Balmain Bugs!
Greg, you have the knack (well one of the two anyway).
Fun with a strong skills base.
The closest I get to the Louisiana Purchase is a friend in Shreveport.
I do have several Fats Domino and Tony Joe White records though.

Cool tune gerg.

I`d like the vox pushed up a few notches, they get kinda burried at time.

Drums sound really good, as do the balance in the mix.

Sounded like a fun tune to play:)
