Was really digging Alien at the outset. I liked the whole super-compressed, sort-of radio transmission fuzziness you had going at the beginning. :cool:

I thought that at some point you would bust out of that, like right when the drums came in would have been sweet. Or if you wanted to tease a bit more, the first verse like that with it really opening up at around 1:00 would have been cool. But, it never opened up. :(

Everything stayed really distant and muffled sounding. The snare drum especially doesn't cut through the mix at all. Not really sure what it is - maybe you're room is really wet or something and you're getting too much of it. Maybe you compressed the crap out of the drums with a fast attack that's not letting the transients through...? Also, is there bass in the mix? I didn't hear any if there was. I liked the song! :) But the mix didn't do it justice.

(Didn't know if the whole distant thing was a thematic part of your mixing just on Alien, but I listened to some of Weakends and heard the same thing)
