Hey, I need to buy a recording snake to go from my board to my MOTU828mkII. Anyone have any opinions on the Jade Audio 8 channel TRS 10' snake? Is it noisy? It doesn't need to be all that durable.

hey i noticed that the other day too when i was looking at recording snakes. i wonder how bad they are compared to hosa and what not

Keep in mind that even permanently installed, durability can be an issue. I can't tell you how many Hosa snakes I have seen go bad that were only plugged in once, ever!

Dumb question here. I am running this our of a Mackie SR24-4. To get 8 channels out I was gonna use the inserts. Do I want unbalanced cables then? Or would you route it a different way? I should mention that some of the buses intermittently lose signal.

Well, I was in a hurry and had to buy what they had at the local music store. I got one of those HOSA 8-channel TS snakes. I'll report back here if it sucks.
