Hi

That's a very nice song. The organ doesn't seems to gel in the mix as well as the other instruments. Try to reduce the volume on it a bit and see how it goes.

Nice work.

Very cool track. The guitarist is quite laid back, not overly flashy in his/her solo, very appropriate for the track, and nice tone. I do feel like the organ is out there, but I kind of feel like it's more of an issue with none of the instruments save the drums/percussion sounding like they're in the same place.

This might be fixable by finding a good panning arrangement for each of the instruments, recreating a physical space, and possible bringing the organ down in the mix a little until the solo. The bassist is very solid.

At any rate good work. Just listened to the second song on there... Very groovy stuff. Have you checked out "The Motet" yet? You can get pretty much their whole album from their website, and Cheap Shit is getting a lot of satellite play. Great stuff, I think you guys would dig them.

Cheers.

Nice work Tonio. I agree that the organ's level is just a little hot. I like the gtr lines a lot starting around 2:00. Arrangement-wise, I think the tune really takes off at 2:00 with the guitar, then the organ getting more active.

Personally, I'd like the level of all the non-drumkit percussion raised just a little throughout the first two minutes, maybe in the rest too.

Sounds real good. Not much else i can say but repeat about the organ coming down a little to sit better. Maybe some mild compression also?

I listened to Jab1 and the other songs on your`e site.
and I must say I`m impressed, specially Jab1 got me in the groove.

very clean and good recording.

I love those rythmic features, really reminds me of some of the early santana stuff.

great job and a thumbs up from me. :)

Hey all, thanks for listening and comments!! some of the comments about mix etc is spot on. However its a rough mix recorded at Spragueland - recorded and mixed by Peter Sprague himself. The band(we called ourself JAB)was James on guitar, Dennis on drums, and myself on percussion, & hired guns on bass & keys. We were working on am Ep, but didn't get anywhere due to member inconsitancies
I actually brought the tunes in my DAW(DP) - the source ahhhhh  cassette. You may notice the saturation with the hihats. OH and theHISS The recording session was tracked on ADAT via a soundtracs board done a few years ago. Hence the archive monicker titles.

I put up some more JAB session stuff and a current tune that I'm working on (chmambo). Let me know what ya'll think.

JAB is a pop smooth jazz kinda tune, and JAB3 is more of a jazzy flameno type tune. You might like JAB3. chammabo is just some of my noodling/composition creation.

Thanks again for listening!!
