J-station overseas

I'm considering the purchase of a J-station (let's not get into the POD vs J debate), but considering it would cost me 3x as much to buy it here in New Zealand, I'm thinking about ordering it from the US. It uses a wall wart adapter, so I can just replace that, right? However, I noted that this adapter provides AC current, and NZ is on 50Hz whereas the US is on 60Hz. Soooo...

Has anyone here used a US J-station in a country where the mains is at 50Hz, and were there any sound quality issues (or not working at all issues) with the different power.

I know this is a hell of a long shot, but for a third of the price, it's worth asking.

I bought the j-station about 6 months ago and I accidentally got the version with the european power supply,so I know that is is available.Get in touch with your US supplier and specify the voltage.

I'm currently waiting for a reply on the availablity of the Australasian model from 8thstreet.com.
However, as a backup, can I ask a couple of questions - with your European model, did they have to replace the whole unit, or did they just change the power supply? Any sonic problems with your j-station compared to others if this is the case?

THe voltage will be fine, I can just buy an adapter, but I can't change the AC frequency, which is 60Hz in the US and 50Hz here.

Any other J-station owners out there - does it say AC 50-60Hz on the back of the machine above the power in jack? (I have tried one out, but nowhere I can find still has one to go and check this out! )

I am from Malaysia, and I have purchase stuffs from Canada and get the wallwart adapters here in Malaysia.

as long as you can get a 220V50kHz AC adapter, it should be fine, cos the device itself will usually takes 9V DC coming out of the adapter. so the frequency doesn't matter.

of course if you can get the dealer to give you a european adapter would be even better!

Leeking, unfortunately (unless I am mistaken) the wallwart for the Jstation puts out 9v AC (not DC- if it were DC I would have no worries (and would probably already own a jstation! ))

Y'know, I thought you were crazy, but I looked and you are absolutely right. An AC wallwart is pretty unusual these days, I must say.

Gee, I find that hard to believe too... I was gonna check, but I'll take bongolation's word for it....

it is very difficult to find European wallwarts in US/Canada (I tried!) unless the product is manufactered by a US company, which I think J-station is. so I think the customer service should be able to hook you up with one! (have you talk to them yet?)

My unit was US but the power supply was European.It didn't fit the rear plug and I had to return it for a new one.The sales clerk was surprised becuase he hadn't seen the alternate voltage model either.
I,ve been gigging with the j-station regularly and am real happy with it.

Hey, can someone give me their idea for a J-Station setting to duplicate as closely as possible the lead intro sound on the immortal Mott the Hoople version of "All the Young Dudes"?
