I've got this in the studio - what effects box should I add?

I have a very small little home studio with the following :

Korg Trinity
Yamaha W7
Yamaha Motif Rack
Some old Roland Vintage sounds rack

Cakewalk
Soundforge

Roland VS-880 - which has acted as a mixer and hard disk recorder


I'm looking to add a good effects unit, so I can improve the overall sound before mixing down to tape.

Can anyone suggest something in the 500 USD region, and also where I should put it within the above system.

One of the next things I have to buy for my 1680 is quality A/D converters. Since you are going to go to tape for the master, you will also need a good stereo D/A.
 
Kurzweil is about to release two effect units... the "Rumor" and the "Mangler" which will have the A/D-D/A capbilities of the KSP-8... and in a more limited presentations, the same programs.

This can solve both you requirements for superior effects boxes as well as being a killer set of A/D-D/A converters.

The units are still in 'alpha' testing... [we're doing some 'beta' testing on the 'Rumor' at our joint at the moment]... but I would think they should be ready to hit the street sometime during the summer or early fall.

I don't know if you can hold out that long... but if you can, it should be well worth your wait.

Kenny G , you didn't list all your Saxophones!:eek:

For Sax you need a nice warm reverb unit.:D

BTW I really enjoyed "Miracles: A Holiday Album", one of your finest works.:D
