For some reason when i finish a new project and send it into iTunes it always comes out sounding terrible. It'll sound just fine in Protools, Garageband, Audacity and even Spotify, but in iTunes, it sounds like a heavy leveler was added (completely blown out bass frequencies, piercing highs, clipping etc.). Is there any way to fix it? any help is appreciated

Well, I try to avoid iTunes at all costs but...

Depending on your settings, you're probably transferring to a pretty lossy form of compression, and...

I believe iTunes has various "features" to allow you to "improve" your tracks with EQ, level adjustment, etc. It might be worth diving into the gubbins and making sure all the rubbish like that is turned off.

Yeah, most likely you have some EQ set up in iTunes. Find the EQ preferences and set it to flat or off.

However, one thing to keep in mind: if commercial tracks sound good through your iTunes EQ, shouldn't yours sound good too? Maybe you should keep the EQ set up as a way of "testing" your tracks.

Yeah when i set it to flat or any of the other eq's it sounded a lot better, but with no eq it sounded way off, i have no idea why its really weird.

Setting it to flat and turning it off should be the same exact thing. The point is that there is no EQ being applied.

Make sure itunes sound enhancer and sound check are off.
The latter will automatically adjust the playback level to match commercial music.
