we don't need rest!!
geez...the guy got 268 views and counting..not to mention all the replies. Basically, I saw nothing that really pertains to equipment, etc., as far as offering any questions or advice.

Unfortunately, what I find disappointing about some of these forums is that some of the items I have asked about (Beyer 160 mic, Soundtracs and Tascam mixers...)get just about zero response. Ditto to the post from others about the Mackie D8b mixers and the 24 track units from Tascam and Mackie also. Everyone likes to talk about Rode NT1 mics (including myself...I posted about them too :-) ...but how about some other equipment. Seems like we are all talking about stuff that every Guitar Center and Mars Music carries and everyone has seen and heard. My point...go in and try them there...and hold to your own opinions. I do however understand many can't (as I live 130 miles to the closest pro audio store), but the discussions always seem to lead to the same topics...which is better the Rode NT1 or the Audio Technica.

Anyway...thanks for letting me rant.....

My question...who has downloaded the updates for POD 2.O and found them worth it? I read that for 59 bucks, you get 4 more amps and the other stuff has been improved.

Ah feeyul yore paine

Alas,I too have posted questions of dire import to the future of my recording efforts and and logged on in anxious anticipation with earnest expectation of impending enlightenment only to find a big fat 0 in the response column.Maybe people just don't care? Maybe "they" think I have a funny UserName? Maybe they can't be bothered with such trifles? Or,maybe there's no one who at least at this point, has any real input to offer because either the gear is too new or no one hear owns it.Silence doesn't necessarily mean rejection...Cheers!

It does happen. I asked about the Fostex D1624 over in the Fostex forum, and had 0 replies as of the last time I looked. My question about dbx noise reduction just got a couple of replies- and one was from virtual.ray, and thanks for that... That's the way of the world. Some equipment may be too new or too expensive for the average reader here, and many people just have nothing to say. Looking at the reads-to-replies ratio, the old canonical Usenet 100:1 ratio still seems to hold true.

Sorry if my wordy replies on that other thread frosted anyone, because that certainly wasn't my intention. I just thought I could vent/rant a little bit myself, and also exercise some humor and exorcise a few demons (those were some hard-learned lessons). Mea maxima culpa if I pissed anyone off.

So, for equipment talk: I bought the D1624 anyway, whether anyone else likes it or not. It is significantly less expensive and its feature set matches my needs than the Mackie or Tascam units, and it should be arriving tomorrow via UPS Blue. I'll be soldering patchbays for the weekend, which is yet another activity I swore up and down that I'd never do again. At least this time it's a *little* patchbay, only 260 points. Ah jes' _love_ them pretty little virgin Switchcraft full-normal jacks. Rule #1: never say never...

Hey fellas' there are occasions where a question was posted and there were zero answers. But don't give up as this has happened to me quite a few times. When there is a problem
that I can't figure it out, sometimes I'll re-word my question to see if there is a response a few days later.
Maybe the question/s you asked was prob'ly asked a thousand times over of which people get tired of answereing the same
thing, therefore it is wise to check the "search function"
of this BBS.
Good Luck!
..."May your unanswered questions become answers"...or sumthin'
like that!
Peace.

i like getting limited replies or zero replies when i post a topic. in my culture that is the sincerest form of flattery.
