I’M NOT THE ONE (YOUR SONG)

I can tell by the look in your eyes
There’s something in the back of your mind
Somewhere down the line I know he hurt you
And you’re wondering if I would do
All the things he put you through
And leave you lost, alone and just desert you

Well put your faith in me, don’t doubt my love is true
I’m not the one who did those things to you

Chorus
--------
I’m not the one who left you lonely
Without giving you a clue
I’m not the one who lied and cheated
And made a fool of you
Well I’d never try to hurt you
And I’d never do you wrong
I’m not the one who told you stories
I’m the one who sings your song

All your life you dreamt of when you’d meet
And how he’d sweep you off your feet
Live happily ever after in the end
But he took all your dreams away
And ever single word I say
Gets lost in all your memories of him

I know that in time you’ll trust the things I say
And leave those memories of him in yesterday

Repeat chorus

Nah man, you gotta get off of the "I'll never have a good voice" thing.

The cool thing about your voice is that it's pretty unique. Some lessons will help gain a bit more control over what you do with it, breathing, pitch control - those sorts of things.

Yep, we gotta work with what we have. Just belt it out with confidence man - and damn the torpedos.

Drums were a bit loud in that tune. :D

What he said. There's nothing wrong with your voice.....you just have to sing the way you sing. Don't try to be like someone else.

Nice song BTW

Your voice is definitely cool and you will do great things with it when you get some instruction. I started taking singing lessons a few months back and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Not only can I sing better, but I breath better and have more conrol in general over my voice than ever. If you've already decided to get some lessons, you're halfway there. You CAN have a great voice, it's there, it's just about learning how to use what you've already got ;) :D

Yes, you will improve with vocal lessons if you get a good instructor and do your homework. Of course it's not too late to do it now. I can tell you that the exercises get monotonous, but they do help. Also, it can be tough to find someone who knows their shit and at the same time you're comfotable with 'em. But given all that, you will improve a lot. And you might find it's really only been little but important mechanical things that have kept you from realizing the potential of your voice.

thanks for the comments and encouragements again guys.....hopefully, i can make enough improvements to do a decent vocal for my contribution the Comp CD second edition......

You could just use nowhereradio.com/gidge or even inwr.com/gidge you know bud ;)

sorry, i guess going straight to the singles page isnt kosher?....changed it with many apologies.....:D

No, that's perfectly kosher, just easier to link with your shorturl.

To go to the singles page directly, just do nowhereradio.com/gidge/singles or inwr.com/gidge/singles!

Gidge, vocals, smokals, it sounds find to me. I mean just listen to the shit on the radio and stuff, vocals are not the main concern. I can't sing a lick, but still love to lay down some vox every now and then. But I always have been around players who had rather nice voices, and I concentrated on the picking part. When these music fans go out and buy a cd and go to a show to see who ever, and the music is load, and a lead vocal person is just screaming shit all over the place, I hope they don't go home thinking, man that dude can really sing. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't worry about your vocals, just do it more.

I like the tune. If it were a bit faster it would have kind of a flavor of that Rush thing going on.
I admire you having the balls to sing. I look both ways before I even hum :)
