July 4th

Busy weekend I guess :)

I think you achieved a great sound with this song.
harmonies were good guitar sounded good if a little sensational seventies. If that makes any sense.

Good work schenkerguy.
I think my wife knows you from artistcollab.com (prozkgrl)

when the vocals came in, they supprised me as that was NOT what I was expecting. Kinda reverby/slap-back echoy to me.

the other vocals where much better and seemed to fit the mix better.

Maybe, on the vocals, and even more intimate sound...up really close, lip smacking, etc, might work...more proximity, fuller sound....

neato lead. I liked it. The harp came in kinda as less dramatic than the gtr solo though...and brought the excitement down a tad because of it.

I liked the aggressive gtr alot. worked for me. Actually, seemed to be the highlighted track of the mix, imo.

little 'slop' heard on the fade out note... should be easy to fix, eh?

Vocals... that's why I'm on the Artist Collaboration site, I need someone to sing on my songs. I posted this one there and received no response over several weeks, so I tried to sing it the best I could myself. I'll try a mix with more intimate vocal sound, guess I'm trying to cover up with effects...

I thought that lead sound was pretty gnarly! That guitar is an old BC Rich copy I pulled out. The rhythm guitar on the right is a Strat, I got kind of a raunchy rockabilly sound.

Thanks for the comments!

Nice gtr sound. Hi hats seem too far forward in the mix... too much "crisp" on 'em. Voice sounds like Billy Idol. There's some clipping when the louder part comes in (pre-chorus).

This sounds like the neo-country pop out there, kind of mixed with Billy Idol (how's that for a comparison?) Backup vocs are nice. The overwhelming thought about this mix is that its a bit too brite, hinging on "harsh" ... are there any high-eq boosts/shelves going on on the cymbals/vocal tracks?

Hey, them's some nice mouth harps. Good overdubs, too. Needs some female backup singers on that instrumental part. KnowhutImean, eh? ;)

Nice gtr licks.

Pretty good recording with some issues to be worked out in a mix. Nice job.

Vocals....maybe you just need a bit of confidence in your singing, you actually can sing. I liked it. I think there's something about the way they come in though...i was like hmmm, then you got going and I liked the vox.

I think the last tune I heard from you was galactic swamp(?) or something like that, this was a different side of you, very nice indeed.

I really like the lead sound. Nice playing to.

Keep this stuff coming!

Oh, you remembered that Galactic Swamp? Cool! :D

I just did a new mix of this, and reduced the effects on the vocals, and dumped that subtle organ that was in the left... I was going to post it, but now I'm going to listen again comparing to some cds to check that high end eq.

Billy Idol... Last song I sang on somebody said it sounded like Cat Stevens! I'll keep working on it, thanks for the encouragement!
