"it is now safe to turn off your computer" ARGH!

ok, this ennoys me,

at work most computers give this message "it is now safe to turn off your computer" after you press SHUT UP

why on earth do i have to push the button? thats obsolete!

and now, NOW, i did a reformat at home (and a backup of course), installed windows

AND now i also got that sh** going on, so how do i get rid of that message?

took a look in the bios but can't find anything, ideas?

I've run into that issue on many machines. 98% of the time it relates to a Power Management setting, usually in the BIOS.
