Hi.. I'm using focusrite solo currently as interface. Ableton 12 live DAW.. When I plug the Harbinger LX12 in place of the focusrite it shows no input or output in DAW options/preferences. The focusrite pops right up when its plugged in... Not sure if there is a setting on my windows 11 desktop I'm missing.. Dazed and confused at this point...

Have you studied page 13 of the user manual? The information on that mixer is a bit confusing, it says "full ASIO drivers" but then says "no special drivers need to be installed". Cannot have it both ways.

Most of these basic USB mixer use the 'generic' USB audio driver and the device should show up in the Windows Sound Control Panel. I don't have W11 so I cannot help you further with that.
I am sure someone here is using W11 and will be along directly.

Welcome to Bedlam BTW!

Dave.

You have to have the ASIO drivers installed in order for the Harbinger LX12 work - I’m on a Mac so I don’t know where you might get them - you could try Asio4All drivers - or if someone knows speak up.

As I said, a USB audio device should automatically run on the generic Windows driver, MME, WASPI or whatever W11 now uses. To get an ASIO driver you need to download that from the mnfctrs website.

A horrible thought occurs! Msoft have a history of effing about with audio systems when they bring out an new OS or even on an update. Many will recall the 'loop thru' function that we enjoyed from at least XP onwards but was killed off (or at least WELL buried) in W10. Could it be that W11 has been similarly buggered?

I shall ask in another place.

Dave.

Focusrite I'm currently using uses ASIO, so I'm not sure why Harbinger Just wouldn't open like focusrite does..

The two devices are different, so they won't use the same driver. Drivers are hardware specific. RME drivers won't see a Focusrite, Focusrite drivers won't see a Harbinger, etc.

From what I see in the manual, you need to go into Windows sound settings to find the input and output devices. That will override the Focusrite, but you can always change it back. You only get Main stereo output, you won't get 12 independent channels of audio.

OK. Thanks I will look at that info and see if it works...
