Hey guys
I was thinking about making a small platform to put my Rokit5's on.. They're sitting on my (very solid) mixing table (as well as my computer) and I can feel the speakers through the table at any audible volume.
Would it be better for me to build entire stands for the speakers?
Can i achieve accoustical greatness from making a "floating" platform? I was considering 4 "pucks" perhaps neoprene or some other material on the bottom.. 3/4" plywood and on the top.. good ole' kitchen sponges covered in some kind of fabric so it looks decent.

Input requested! Thanks :)

Ah nice. Thanks!
I always thought they were like 50bucks, ebay has them for 25ish. sweet.

How about my computer? It's a little guy.. 12"x8"x8" shuttle computer. I'm looking to isolate it from the table as well (mostly to reduce noise)
ideas?

the proof is in your results. Does it quit vibrating your table?

i used some std. grey foam and the table vibration was nearly 100% eliminated. mo-pads have a nice cut/angled and is a bit more dense than what i used, but i had it laying around.

i've never heard a speaker designer say vibration transfer is good, usually say the bass will tighten up some from preventing the contact.

i think stands are better if you can keep your EE triangle in check. the comb filtering thing with most desks is why you most often see the speakers on stands, beside or behind the desks.
even with stands most have spikes to reduce contact points.

just my vote. stands and foam or pebbles.
