ISIS vs. DELTA

I'm getting a new soundcard in the new few days. It's going to be either an ISIS or a Delta44. I can't decide because :

- I know the Delta is better quality, but I need MIDI I/O and I'm concerned that a Delta won't sit happily next to my AWE64 (I'll need to keep the AWE for it's MIDI outs).

- The ISIS has digital i/o, which although isn't really a high priority for me, it would be nice to have. (I have a SONY TCDD8 dat which would hook up nicely with it).

- The ISIS is apparently manufactured (and supported) like a crappy toy (badly).

I'm leaning towards the ISIS, but I've got an awful feeling I'm making a mistake.
The ISIS is AU$550 compared to Delta at $AU999 (yes - Delta is nearly twice the price).

PLEASE can someone convince/reassure me to get a Delta and run it alongside my AWE64 !?

Thanks.

PS:This forum is absolutely fantastic :)

I don't know about an AWE64 but there are a couple cats here that are using the delta series with SB live with no problems

Paying apx $500 extra for the Delta and missing out on digital IO & having to keep my stinkin' AWE64 for MIDI is seeming dumber and dumber every minute. Oh dear.. I really have to make up my mind.

well i use the ISIS card and i find it to be great ... I havent used a million dollar card but i can make great recordings with it .. I dont use the midi much , but i bought a cheap controller and hooked it up and the midi seems great (not a lot of experience with midi).. For its price i think its great .. if u can afford something a bit better , like the Layla then definetly do it ... but its a good card i think .. Doesnt seem like a cheap toy.. well when i was a kid i never got $600 toys..

! I decided on a Delta66 and bought one today (haven't installed it yet though). Interesting thing is - when I first got home and looked in the (shrinkwrapped) box, I noticed that it was missing something.... the card! The breakout box etc was all there - but no card. The suppliers swapped it for a 'complete' package without any probs though. M-Audio : what is going on with your production line?

I've got the Delta 66 and already had a SB Live. I had no conflicts, it installed and works fine. Though mine came packed with a breakout box AND the sound card :D
