Can an input be sent into the input of one fx unit, then out of the output to another input of another fx unit, then be routed back to a recorder?

if that was confusing:

recorder ==>fx in>out==>fx in>out==>recorder?

so for example, an echo on fx 1 and distortion on fx 2 would result in a distorted echo?

the units i am using (i havent either of them so i cant try) are a zoom rfx 1000 and a zoom g707 guitar fx. i think its the 707.
