Is this a stupid idea for cheap(free) diffusion?

Forgive my ignorance as I'm just beginning to understand diffusion. I've seen lots of pvc pipe (plastic sewer and water pipe) remnants around construction sites. If cut in half lengthwise could they be adhered to a wall and used for sound diffusoion? If so what type of bonding agent could be used so the pipe wouldn't fall off the wall? I'm just trying to come up with an idea for cheap diffusion. Thanks, Don

You could use Crazy glue to fasten them to a sheet of Plexiglass. Up here a 24' x 48" x 1/4" sheet of Plexi is about $36.00. Check out the glue section at Home Depot or Lowes for other glue options.

If you want to fasten them to wood I would recommend Epoxy. I think that's gonna adhere best to both the PVC and the wood.

PVC glue itself is kindofa pain in the ass, IMHO. It works really well bonding PVC to PVC, but not very well on anything else.

I'd fill them with plaster once I'd split them to give them some mass - otherwise they will only be high frequency diffusion.

cheers
john

Thanks for the replies. If they need to be filled it probably wouldn't be worth it.
