Is this a good organ???

No, no NO!

This Hammond is a transistor baby, not a tone-wheel monster.

Probably, if you are looking for the Hammond Sound, then you are looking for a Hammond with drawbars.

The Leslie, depending on which one it is, may be worth $300. But it would have to be a Leslie 145, 147 or 122 or perhaps one or two other model numbers.

This Hammond, from the link, is okay but will probably not give you the sound you are looking for. I would personally stear clear of it. Besides, the Who used a Lowery organ for "Won't Get Fooled"

Search the internet as there are many great hammond resource sites out there.

What you are looking for is one of these:

Hammond L-100, M-100, M-3 . . which all may be in your price range (with or without the Leslie)

Yeh, what he said. L's and M's are cool. Stay away from the solid state stuff.

Basically you want a pre-1975 (74?) all-tube Hammond with percussion. They may not give you the exact B-3 sound, but they're pretty close, and there are upgrades available, like a foldback percussion kit...

Great investment, even the cheap ones. Especially the cheap ones. I loved the L-100 I used to play, and my old M-3 was pretty good too.

Daf (plays a D-152 now)
