Hi, this little piece of heavy guitar music was recorded using low-level (home)recording equipment. I think I came up with quite a heavy sound. When I listen to the track on my stereo or on headphones it sounds thick to me.

What do you think how does it compare to "real studio" productions? Any suggestions? (And how do you like the tune itself?)

(MP3, 0.7MB)

Now online: Remastered Version

with less distortion, more transparency and a little more bass and completely new drums:

Well, it definitely sounds "big" if that's what you're going for.
I'm thinking it could be balanced a little better. The rhythm guitars are just blasting, I think they are too up front and they have a little bit of a sterile sound to them that could probably be overlooked if they weren't so huge in the mix. Lead guitar sounds good. I think there could be more bass too.

Good sound overall though in my opinion.

It sounds good, but distorted. I dunno if you're going for that, but the drums sound distorted. Especially the kick.
