I'm looking to pick up a bass but I don't know much about them. I saw this one on craig's list and thought I would see what people here thought about it.

I'm a beginner so I don't need anything fancy, but neither do I want sucky garbage. I'd like something that I could record with.

I could be wrong, but that looks like a Squire Bullet Bass and not a Precision Bass to me. Perhaps some experts might know.
 
It's a P'Bass. I won't comment on its worth though. I like their sound, I just prefer other basses. Skip on the amp for sure!!!
 
It does look to be a newer model (Probably a Mexican made model).
 
I would say go for the bass if its in GOOD condition. But I would pass on the amp.
