i'm thinkiing about recording me performing drum playing with midi keys
i can play real drum so one way i can come close to it,i assume, is using a footpedal to play bassdrum sound, finger on lefthand for snare and righthand for hats
so i can record just one take not the typical
one take of bassand snare, another for hats
i wonder whether i can use any pedal to trigger a key?
at the meantime i have footpedal of QS8 at my disposal
thnx in advance

Hmmmm, you might be able to program the footpedal to send a Note On message, but I bet if you play it like a real kick footpedal it'll die in a few days...

There are MIDI-capable percussion controllers, but they tend to be a bit expensive... still, perhaps just the kick footpedal might be available by itself somewhere.

Musician's Friend seems to stock a lot of this stuff... check out this link for starters...

but I think most of these only give trigger signals, you need some kind of "brain" that can read these and turn them into MIDI messages.

By the way, did you ever hear Bela Fleck and the Flecktones? The "drummer," FutureMan (Ray Wooten, btrother of the bass player Victor Wooten), plays "drums" for the group -- he triggers MIDI stuff using a guitar-like controller called the SynthAxe, and plays live like that.
