as an echoes effects device for a multitracker or is reverb the same thing as echo?sorry for making all the dumb questions but im trying to screw up as little as possible before I buy anything.
I guess you can call some forms of reverberation "echo."
I once saw a concert at Chicago's Orchestra Hall. No microphones for Andre Segovia and I heard his every pluck sitting almost in the last row WAYYYYYYY up high. It was awesome.
So, the "echo" in that hall is controlled and created by the design of the hall.
Hence, you will see the term "hall" in many reverb program pre-sets.
Most all singers use some form of reverb to enhance the sound of their voices. As well, reverb is used by horns and flutes, etc. Depends on what needs to be done. Also, depends on who is paying for the session.
