16 channels and sixteen sliders(I'd take eight over the xp30's 4) to operate the levels?i.e. one man band playing live.
all must be able to be drum track assignable
thanks

Are you taking PC based ?

If so, JAZZ++ ( freeware from www.jazzware.com ) has a mixer window for all 16 midi channels ( volume, reverb, chorus )

I sort of do the one-man-band thing with PC and midi, but at-home and sans audience.

Are you looking for a hardware MIDI controller? If so, getting 16 faders will be expensive. You might consider THIS. 8 faders freely assignable and 8 encoders and 16 buttons! You can also chain multiple units.

There was a lot of buzz surrounding these when they were announced, but I haven't heard anything about how they're working for people.

maybe 8 sliders then?

ok thanks for the replys folks.but what I need is a keyboard with at least eight volume faders(my roland xp30 has four, but the drums can only go on channel 10 so I can't bring in and out the dynamics when I want to and beyond that it is not a sequencer)so I can put different drum parts on each of the channels and adjust them in and out as I need when playing live.i.e cascara, congo and jam block on verses, and push up cowbell ride bell and conga low on the chorus, montuno etc. of course they would be in a continous loop.
